Walt's French Apple pie

List of ingredients..

1 can of WHITEHOUSE sliced apples.
1/4 cup brown sugar.
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 table spoon all-purpose flour.
1/2 tea spoon cinnamon.
1/4 teaspoon of salt.
1/4 tea spoon nutmeg.
2 tea spoons REALEMON lemon juice.
2 table spoons of butter.
1/4 cup of SUNMAID raisins.
4 table spoons of confectioners sugar.
3 aluminumn foil strips, 2 inches long X the width of the foil box.

DIRECTIONS..

Once you open the can of apple slices, leave the lid laying in place, then hold
upside down over the sink and with your fingers, squeeze all the juice out of
the can , as much as you are able. ( the dryer the slices, the less wet your pie
will be ). In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly combine all ingredients, ( except
for the butter, the confectioners sugar and the aluminumn foil). Prepare the pie
plate by taking a bit of dry flour and smear inside bottom & walls of same.
Then put crust into plate, forming it as usual. Pour in ingredients and dot with
the butter ( approx. 1/4 tea spoon per dot ). Cut slits in top crust and apply to pie,
trim crust to fit plate, and wet a fork, ( often ) as you use it to flange together
the two crust edges. Then  I like to spread a little EXTRA butter with the back
of a spoon  onto the top of the top crust, ( it adds a golden look, and terrific
flavor to the crust ). To keep the edges of the crust from burning black, take the
three strips of aluminumn foil and fold them around the edge of the pie, ( making
sure they overlap and cover the entire edge. ) Bake in 425 degree oven for 40 - 45
minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
When the baking is done, you can take the confectioners sugar in a cup, slowly add
hot water, a half-tea spoon at a time, stirring the sugar with a spoon, till it becomes
a GLAZE,( like on glazed doughnuts ) when it has the look that appeals to you,
then spread it onto the crust of the pie  (after removing the foil ).
Let cool....Eat and gain weight to your hearts content.!!!
